After the success of Musica Secreta’s first recording with Obsidian Records - Lucrezia Borgia’s Daughter: Princess, Nun and Musician - Obsidian is thrilled to be able to collaborate with the group

From Musica Secreta:

“It’s been whirlwind getting this recording together, from finding the music to booking the recording dates and trying to find time to do that thing – rehearse! – but we did it, and we could not be happier about the result. The disc pairs Brumel’s Lamentations for Good Friday, discovered by Laurie in their forty-five-minute-complete gorgeousness in October, with (mostly anonymous) motets, hymns, and antiphons from a manuscript that belonged to a sixteenth-century Florentine convent. The disc will be launched with a concert at the Brighton Early Music Festival on 25 October 2019.

And we can now also announce that we will be touring the CD programme as a live docu-concert, with four performances in autumn 2019 and spring 2020.  We are delighted to acknowledge the generous support of Arts Council England. Details for tickets as they are announced will be available via our events page.”
